Sartorial and Moodena are Tropical Disco – two likeminded individuals, who share a deep love of music, vinyl-culture and no-boundary parties. It originally started as a Nu Disco and Groovin House show on Sartorial’s weekly House FM radio show and progressed on to be a monthly club night at The Market House in Brixton in 2017.
Sartorial holds a weekly radio show on Mi-Soul radio from 1-3 am on Friday morning called Tropical Disco show, which gives him the perfect platform to test out forthcoming tracks on one of England biggest DAB radio stations. Tropical Disco started in November 2017 releasing their first vinyl ep Tropical Disco edits VOL 1 which kicked the label off with a bang. Building on that formula the label has gone from strength to strength, with each release selling more than the last with re-presses ordered within two weeks of each release being on sale.
In 2018 Moodena (Tim Burnett) a long-time friend of Sartorial was asked to join as a partner/director in the label. Tim brings a wealth of experience with over 20 years in the business as a founding member of MN2S a legendary artist agency, club night, record label and distribution company.
Tropical Disco edits Volume 4 ‘Sound of the Summer ep’ sees Moodena’s first release drop and is set already to be the biggest Vinyl release on the label, making it number one in vinyl sales on Deejay.de and number 4 on Juno. The EP also received support from DJ’s such as DJ Spen, Chez Damier, Soul Clap, RNT, Get Down Edits and Marshall Jefferson to name a few.
In March 2018 TD records went digital with a string of tracks going into the top ten of the Nu Disco chart immediately.
Over the summer Tropical Disco will be releasing a track a week on digital to keep those Disco and House vibes constantly flowing!
The guys have always been massive fans of vinyl and this is emulated in their vinyl-only Tropical Disco parties, holding a monthly residency at Number 90 and a bi-monthly residency at Peckham Springs, as well as regular guests slots around the UK and beyond.
